Through the Lake

2024, Procreate and Cinema 4D

Through this project, I wanted to experiment combining 2D and 3D animation, utilizing Procreate and Cinema 4D, to create a dreamy and colorful world. The animation explores the feelings of loneliness and longing, and the desire to feel a deep connection to another person. The story follows a bear who meets a bunny-like creature and is introduced to the world of the mysterious Pink Heart Lake. There, the bear faces different manifestations of his emotions, reflecting on them in solitude. Through this journey, the bear learns self-acceptance and realizes that being alone is okay. He discovers that true connection comes only when one can love themselves first. The bunny-like creature, expressing love for the bear, helps him realize this before leaving him in the end to continue his self-exploration. The story ends open-ended, hinting that when the time is right, the bear and bunny-creature may reconnect.
